Hi all.
My plan is to create a blog/podcast about android accessibility in Greek because in Greece and Cyprus only a few people are using android and i want to introduce them to the world of android.
Which one do you think it is better for this kind of thing? Blogger or wordpress?
Keep in mind that if i use wordpress i will use the free one since i don't have my own server.
I will host my recordings on dropbox.
For each episod i will have a description and then a link for somebody to listen to the recording.
In some simmilar blogs i saw some pritty players where somebody can play the recording with in the blog. I don't know if blogger or wordpress provide this functionality for free and if it is easy to be done.
One good example is the website http://accesstech.za
There is a small description first and them some html buttons to play the recording, pause etc.
I don't know any html so i don't know if my idea is possible. If not i can just give the url for the recording and people can play it with their prefered media players or even download them.
I also would like the recordings to be available through the rss feed of the blog i am going to use.
These are my questions. I am looking forward to your answers or suggestions.
If you use a free podcast host instead it'll have its own player so people can just press play and hear what you have said.
Hi.
Have you got any suggestions about free accessible potcast services that i could use? I am using nvda as my screen reader.
I don't know how well it works for us, but there is SoundCloud, designed for uploading tracks and podcasts and anything else. Apparently Lifehacker and a lot of other people use it. I listen to some of that stuff on the iPhone using SoundCloud, but it can be done via RSS from there also.
Just something to check into and see if it works.
Hi.
Thanks for this. I didn't think about sound cloud. I am following some people on twitter who post mainly their music on soundcloud so i didn't think about podcasts. I will have to have a look at their terms of service to see what kind of material they accept.
Not to take over this post, but I, too, am looking for a place for blogging. I already use Youtube for voice posts, though I may try soundcloud, as well, since I could then make strictly audio recordings, but am not sure how many listeners I would get there. At any rate, I want a simple, text-based blog, on a site which is free, easy to use, and which has a decent amount of people on it. Any suggestions? I know there's Livejournal, but that's not really a blogging site. I'm also using NVDA.
For text blogs blogger and wordpress are the most popular. I know there is a way to add audio as well and this is what i am trying to find out.
I had a look at soundcloud yesterday. It is a good service but the free account offers only 120 minutes of upload time and i don't think it is enough time for me.
I will see what else i can find.
If you are going to use your phone some of the time then use HQ MP3 recorder, it records at 128 or higher depending on your settings. Note, the record to high quality mp3 sound is in the pro or paid counter part of this app. A lot of android's come with a recording app but I like this one better because of the sound quality.
crap its called High-Q mp3 recorder, time to get more coffee.
Hello.
I am not looking to find ways to record the show. I have got my computer and the plextalk ptr2 and pocket and the zoom h1 for making the actual recordings.
Then i could use adobe audition to edit the recording before pubblishing.
My question is where to host the blog-podcast and about having an embeded player to play each recording.
I signed up to wordpress.com yesterday and i find the website accessible enough.
Now if i host my mp3 recordings on dropbox how can i link them with my wordpress blog? I know i could give the url out but i am sure there smarter ways to present this.
